How do I enable specific delivery time slots?

The delivery time slots feature works by allowing customers to select a date and time window in which they can have their items delivered

The time slots are created using a 7 day pattern setup, where as the merchant you are able to allocate the number of delivery slots available to your customers. You can also use full day slots or specific intervals, like 1 hour slots between certain times, as well as various other configuration options.

What do delivery time slots help me achieve?


  • Delivery time slots are ideal if you are fulfilling the delivery on orders on your website, or if you only open your premises for collection at certain times.

  • Manage windows in which customers can expect a delivery to arrive.

  • Manage the flow of visitors to your premises for collection orders.

  • Set a maximum amount of slots available per time window to manage customer expectations.


How to set up delivery time slots

In your Shopblocks admin area, click Settings.


Then click Manage deliveries.

 

Click + Add Delivery at the top right.

 

After giving the delivery a name, scroll down until you see the Other Delivery Options box on the right hand side.

 

Now scroll down to the Dispatching Orders area of the page and change the dropdown menu option to Timeslot Delivery.

 

This will allow you to set the days your delivery or collection option is available, and how far into the future customers will be able to select an option.

 

If this field is left empty, this will default to 7 days ahead, plus any lead time specified.



In the example above the lead time is set to 1 hour. This means that the earliest delivery slot available will be 1 hour later than the time the order is being placed.

Now tick the Configure booking slots option to configure your time slots.



In the example below, the time slot length is set to 1 hour, with a limit of 2 bookings per hour. 



Below the Time Slot Configuration options, select the days individually and set your start and end times, and the number of bookings available per window.

 

Press Save in the top right hand corner of the page to save your delivery option.


Using Preset Locations


In the Other Delivery Options area, there is a check box for using preset locations.

 


If you activate this option, you will have the ability to set a preset delivery location.



This will allow customers to choose a slot to collect or receive their delivery from a preset location in the window specified by the rest of your delivery time slot set up.

There is also an option to specify a Different Recipient.

This can be activated to allow customers to nominate someone other than themselves to collect or receive the delivery.
